As Beverly and I travel in the States and visit churches, pastors most often ask two questions: What is your relationship with Bethany World Prayer Center? How do you distribute the funds you receive? This month I would like to give you a simple overview of the work we are doing and how we distribute our monthly income. I have also included a magazine from Bethany World Prayer Center that gives a powerful report on the status of the worldwide G12 Church-planting Project.

Bethany World Prayer Center

Bethany is my home church. Though I served on staff at Bethany for nearly 15 years, I am now living by faith. We have continued in a strong, submitted relationship with Pastor Larry and the Bethany leadership and the Global 12 Project is the primary focus of my work. Bethany has been providing approximately 75% of the financial resources for the village church plants and in the past 2 years we have planted 224 village churches among the Unreached People Groups of South Asia.

Model Church Funding

I have set a goal of establishing one model church each year for the next twenty years. These model churches are usually located in major cities where we target middle class families. My purpose is to build works that can become teaching centers for the vision and bases of outreach for their region. To date we have planted two model churches, the first in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and the second in Gurgaon, India. 100% of the funds for the model churches comes from individuals and our partner churches. I plan to launch the third model church this year in Nepal.

Personal Income

When Beverly and I first launched out in faith, just over three years ago, we set ourselves up on a salary that was equivalent to the salary I received as a staff pastor at Bethany. Bethany provides approximately 20% of that monthly income and the balance comes through offerings from small to medium sized congregations and individuals. We have continued with that system and it has worked well. With our personal income fixed and met through our ministry partners, we are able to channel 100% of the additional income we raise directly to the work in South Asia.

Children Home Support

Beverly and I supported the orphanage in Nepal as a faith project for two years. Now there are individuals who are beginning to help us with this project and it is slowly growing. This month we found two young boys who were living on the streets of the city of Bhaktapur and brought them into the home giving us a total of 14 children.
