Pastor Victor Nazareth & Family

When Beverly and I spent three months in Delhi, India in 2002, Pastor Victor Nazareth already had a solid church in the city of Delhi. We helped Victor and Esther expand their ministry and plant a second congregation in the rapidly growing city of Gurgaon, about 30 miles south of Delhi.

A church in South Carolina committed to support the work in Gurgaon for one year with $500 per month and we used those funds to rent a room in a landmark hotel, purchase sound equipment and help with transportation for Pastor Victor and his family to commute several times a week to Gurgaon. Pastor Victor invested out of his own resources into this project and it has paid off.

Within one year the church was fully self-supporting. This English speaking congregation is made up of upper-middle class families who are capable leaders with tremendous potential.

Victor has a delightful family and is truly a quality leader. He has been so encouraged with the potential of the new church that he sold his flat in east Delhi and has moved his family to Gurgaon.

Though I am no longer helping this church financially, I am very involved in helping to direct the vision of the congregation and will be spending considerable time with Victor and his leaders this fall. When I have finished the property in Sri Lanka, I hope to help the Gurgaon church purchase their own property.
