Nothing says progress quite like digging a big hole in the ground! Our church in Colombo, Sri Lanka, has been growing steadily for the past five years, and space has become a critical limitation to our growth. We're now holding three services over the weekend and averaging over 650 adults in attendance. Three years ago I purchased a piece of property in Colombo, and I challenged the church to believe God for the finances to build. They have done well financially and are supporting 3 full time pastors, as well as paying their rent and expenses. I haven't supported this church financially for two years now.

The building we are renting has become a valuable property because of the recent development, and the landlord has raised the rent to over three times what we started with. It's impossible and really imprudent for the congregation to continue paying the rent he is asking, so this is a critical time for us.

Our building budget is about $100,000. Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, gave $20,000 toward the building last month. A church in The Netherlands gave about $7,000 earlier this year so we have a good beginning.
