Bev and I are in Singapore and will remain here through the month of September. I have begun teaching each year for a week at Tung Ling Bible school and we are ministering through September in various churches and home groups around the city. Singapore has become the Antioch of Asia with strong vibrant churches that are beginning to reach out in missions. The caliber of leadership here is outstanding and, for the sake of our works in South Asia, we want to do as much as we can to network with the emerging missions-minded churches in this world-class city. Cornerstone Church www.cscc.org.sg has been a tremendous blessing to our work in Colombo, Sri Lanka , and I want to connect other Singapore churches with our works in India, Pakistan and Nepal.

Pastor Dishan Desilva has completed the construction of their church building in Colombo. It's really a first class building and we are so proud of how Dishan has moved by faith in this construction project. He has raised about $50,000 of the $120,000 construction costs from the Colombo congregation which is a remarkable achievement. Another $50,000 came from churches in Europe, Singapore and the United States. He does need about $20,000 to complete the project.

The Colombo congregation operates on a budget of about $3,000 per month from congregation members who average about $100 a month income. One member gave $9,000 that he had been saving to build a house and some of our women sold their only pair of gold earrings to give toward the building. We have stood in awe of the sacrificial giving of these dear Sri Lankan believers. They have truly taken ownership of their church and are moving in bold vision and faith.
