When Bev and I launched our church planting vision five years ago, my dream was to meet somewhere in Asia each year with my young developing leaders. Up until now we have poured all of our resources into buildings, land, and training for our leaders, but we are reaching the point where we can begin to bring our men together for leadership summits.
In mid October I met five of our men in Seoul, South Korea, where we attended Dr. David Yonggi Cho's annual Church Growth International Conference. It was truly a life-changing experience for these leaders as they had the opportunity to visit the largest church in the world, attend a prayer rally with over 100,000 radically praying Koreans, and sit under leadership teaching from pastors of some of the largest churches in the world. I have learned that one of the best ways to increase our faith is to be exposed to ministries that are changing the world.
I am so grateful to the Lord for our emerging team and stand in awe of what the Lord is doing through them. Pastor Dishan DeSilva just completed his first building in Colombo, Sri Lanka . He has over 650 adults attending his three Sunday services. He has 18 village churches under his leadership. Pastor Safeer Akhtar just completed his first building in Islamabad, Pakistan, and has over 800 adults attending the Sunday service. Pastor KB Basel has over 70 village churches in Nepal and over 350 adults in his main church. He has a combined total of over 5,000 believers in his churches.
After the Church Growth Conference I had the privilege of ministering in a pastors' conference here in Seoul with Pastor Larry Stockstill and Pastor Kim Samseong of Almaty, Kazakhstan. Pastor Kim published my book, The Master of Relationships, in Korean and I was thrilled that they sold 2,000 copies in the conference!
Bev and I will be in Nepal through November and December. We will be helping Pastor KB train more village church pastors and will be launching the construction of his new main church building. Thanks for all you have done to stand in faith with us.
