2007 has been a year of growth and of building. Our total income in 2007 was $449,455 which is an $81,552 increase over 2006. Last year I set a five-year goal to release our faith that we might grow to an annual income of one million per year. We are growing steadily toward that goal, and I believe it is well within our grasp to reach that in the next four years.
My son Shane is working with us part time and though we could use him full time, I want to wait until our overall income is sufficient enough to support another full time salary. I teach my pastors that they should keep their staff salaries below 20% of the church's overall income, and I want to maintain that same standard for our ministry.
We are doing well in the building projects we initiated in 2007. The Pakistan building is completed for a total cost of $130,000. The Colombo, Sri Lanka building is 95% completed for a total cost of about $250,000. They still need about $20,000 to finish the work. The Nepalgunj, Nepal project is underway. The total cost of that project will be about $140,000. We have all but about $30,000.
We were able to launch 106 village church plants this year with funds provided by Bethany World Prayer Center. Bethany's overall contribution to ChurchAsia in 2007 was $139,550 or about 30% of our total income. As our home church, Bethany is our largest single contributor, but the contributions of other churches and individuals enable us to do far more than we could with Bethany alone. Every partnership is significant!
Each year we continue to fall short in our funds for travel. Bev and I travel on a modest budget. To do our work effectively requires extensive travel. We are believing God for an increase in undesignated funds so that we may use these to cover our travel expenses.
Thanks for all you have done to partner with us to touch the unreached regions of South Asia.
