The site construction has begun on our building expansion in Nepalgunj, Nepal. We are nearing completion of 1,400 feet of wall around the property which is an absolute necessity here due to security concerns and to establish indisputable property lines.
The property we purchased contained a pond and quite a few low areas so we have been hauling in hundreds of loads of fill material. That work should be completed by the end of April or mid-May. The monsoon rains come here in June through September and we will need to allow the land to settle through a rainy season before we can begin construction. The building plans are nearing completion and we will start the construction the first week of October.
The present building is absolutely packed, with people sitting outside on the front porch of the building. I do not see how we could squeeze another person into the seating area. It is time to start a second service really, and we are looking into that. The new building will have a phase I seating capacity of 1,000 and a phase II total capacity of 1,600.
Thanks for helping us establish significant congregations in South Asia!
