225 Leaders Gather in New Colombo Church Building

Vision is the Beginning of Every Success Cornerstone Church in Singapore invites me each year to teach four days in their School of Leadership. I taught there the first week of September. This is now my third year to spend a week with them and each time it has been an enjoyable and fruitful experience. From Singapore I traveled to Colombo, Sri Lanka where we held a pastor's conference in the church Bev and I planted 7 years ago. This influential congregation has grown to about 650 adult members and over 60 home groups. This was our first conference to host in Sri Lanka and over 225 leaders from 40 churches participated. We have now planted twelve congregations out of our model church and I was encouraged to see pastors from over 150 miles away attend. Over 30 of these congregations now look to our model church for leadership and direction and we are releasing our faith that others will join us in a common vision of discipleship and leadership development. We are using the conference to launch a monthly pastors meeting which I believe will grow into a powerful coalition of growing and innovative congregations. I have translated my book, The Master of Relationships, into Singhalese and we were able to give each leader who attended a copy. Pastor Mike Ewoldt from River of Life Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi joined us for the conference and did a tremendous job. From Sri Lanka I traveled to Calcutta where we hope to launch a model church and from Calcutta, to Nepal where we are holding a conference with the 80 churches we have helped to plant there.
