The challenge of this generation is to pastor multitudes...
We held our first conference in west Nepal in October and were so encouraged by the response. We now have 84 churches in the western region. Seventy-five percent of these churches were planted in the past 3 years. Over 3,800 adults attended the conference representing about sixty percent of the total believers in our village churches. Most of them had never been in such a large gathering and as far as we know, this is the first big outdoor meeting ever held in the Nepalgunj township. I have said many times that the challenge of our generation is not to simply stand before multitudes as our predecessors have done, but to actually pastor multitudes. I believe we have the potential in west Nepal to truly pastor a multitude. I intend to sponsor a conference like this each year in Nepal, and I expect to see the attendance at least double next year. We were concerned about Hindu extremists attacking this meeting and decided not to advertise locally. Nearly all those who attended were our church members. Next year, I hope to make this an evangelistic outreach. I asked our village pastors to send reports on the results of the three days we spent together, and several notable miracles took place: a person with partial paralysis was completely healed, a mental patient was healed and his entire family came to the Lord, a woman with an issue of blood was healed, a chronic jaundice patient was healed, four new house churches were started and, I'm guessing, nearly a thousand received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Hundreds more were water baptized after the event. Thanks for standing alongside us as we continue to pastor multitudes by training effective leaders in South Asia
