First Nepal Conference
We held our first conference in west Nepal in October 2008 and were so encouraged by the response. At the time of the conference we had 84 churches in the western region. We expect to launch at least 20 more churches by the middle of 2009. Seventy-five percent of these churches were planted in the past 3 years.
Over 3,800 adults attended the conference representing about sixty percent of the total believers in our village churches. Most of them had never been in such a large gathering and as far as we know, this is the first big outdoor meeting ever held in the Nepalgunj township.
In this event, I saw the importance of gathering our churches together. Though it is expensive, it is vital for our people to understand the scope of the work. Most of them had no idea that there were so many believers in our West Nepal churches and they were greatly encouraged. We have a walled property that can accommodate up to 10,000 and I believe our annual conference will grow to this size within the next three years.
